Flavors that unite us.

Food is more than nourishment;
it’s storytelling.

Cocina Libre Storytelling Through Food

At Cocina Libre, we believe food is more than sustenance—it's a bridge between cultures and a tool for empowerment. We build community and amplify immigrant voices through the universal language of food.

Our Journey

Cocina Libre began with a simple yet powerful idea: food has the ability to connect people and tell stories.

As immigrants ourselves, we understood the challenges of building a sense of belonging in a new place while preserving our cultural roots. We saw an opportunity to use food as a bridge, a way to bring immigrant stories to every table and foster understanding.

In May 2024, we launched two major projects: a book and a documentary. Since then, we’ve sold more than 700 books—triple the lifetime average for self-published works, which typically sell fewer than 200 copies. We also reached #1 New Release status on Amazon.

Our Impact

Through Cocina Libre, in a few months, two of our chefs have secured full time positions in the food industry. Another ten chefs have participated in multiple events that generated direct income for them.

You will leave our events with more than a meal—you will leave with a transformed perspective, deeper empathy, and the knowledge that you’ve made a direct impact on immigrant lives.
